Traditionally, the Democratic Party has advocated using government to do good things for citizens and to protect working men and women. These are admirable and desirable objectives. The Democratic Party appears to have recently evolved, however, and the party has been taken over by socialists that are advocating ideas that are not in alignment with the constitution or our founding principles. This is a dangerous course to pursue. The Democratic Party is leaving its moderates and conservatives behind.
Many of us chose our political affiliation based on what our parents or family believed, what we were taught in our education systems, or based on our social standing or employment. I appeal to Democratic voters to vote their values, principles, and religious beliefs. I also ask that Democratic voters look at the recent successes in our economy and energy and foreign policy and consider their vote carefully. We should avoid using identity politics to divide us, but rather we should use diversity constructively to unite us and put us on a path of prosperity and security.
Regardless of how you vote, if elected I will be your representative in Congress and will listen to you and evaluate what you say and do my best for Virginia’s third district.
